World Relief to address immigration issues on Nov. 12, 19

Everyone is invited to join us on Nov. 12 when Joy Justus from World Relief will be guest preacher at the 9 and 11 a.m. services. At the 10 a.m. adult education program Kerry Ham of World Relief will discuss an opprtunity for Westminster to develop a Good Neighbor Team. Also refugee Jawal Khawari from Afghanistan will participate in this insightful opportunity to discuss his experience arriving in Sacramento through a special visa program for people who helped American military in Afghanistan.

On Nov. 19 Ted Oswald, immigration attorney with World Relief, will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. adult education program. He will address the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) policy. This currently affects 800,000 individuals who were brought to America as children. President Donald Trump rescnded the policy in SEptember and Congress has until February to craft a solution.

These programs is part of the immigration aspect of Westminster’s program year of “Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly.” The program “Radical Hospitality” will be presented on Sunday Nov. 26.
