Westminster marches for justice & equality in January
All are invited to join a group from Westminster at two local marches this month.
March for the Dream (MLK Day March) – Jan. 15
Let’s march together for equality and criminal justice reform. Those wanting to carpool to the start of the march can meet in the Westminster parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Otherwise, just meet us all at Sacramento City College when the march begins at 9 a.m. We will march and sing through Land Park, Southside Park, and the downtown neighborhoods, ending at the Sacramento Convention Center. Signs will be available for participants to carry. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Westminster t-shirt.
Sacramento Women’s March – Jan. 20
March to engage youth, uplift women leaders, advocate and gender equality, and stand together for fair protection of all human rights. In keeping with Westminster’s program year theme “Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly,” we are spearheading an effort to invite all interested supporters to join us from Westminster, the Sacramento Presbytery, and beyond as we join in this very important march. We will be gathering at the picnic tables in Southside Park near the corner of 6th and T streets at 9:30 a.m. There will also be a sign-making party at 12:30 p.m. in the Jackson Room on Sunday, Jan. 14. All sign materials will be provided and attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch (drinks will be provided). Contact the office if you have any questions.
