Westminster hosts Concert Across America to End Gun Violence

On Sept. 24 concert halls, theaters and churches throughout the country will fill with the sound of music as the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence is held. Westminster is thrilled to partner with the Sacramento Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence  to host the event in our sanctuary.

And following the Sunday afternoon concert, the church bell will ring 32 times – once for each person who is killed by handgun violence daily in our country.

This nationwide event brings together musicians, activists, faith communities, and citizens to honor victims of gun violence and make gun violence prevention a pressing national issue.  The concerts will focus on the tremendous loss of life that gun violence has cost our communities. This is an opportunity to come together to reflect, remember, and affirm the need to prevent gun violence.

The concert will begin at  4 p.m. and features our very own Brad Slocum on organ, and also The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus and the Sacramento Children’s Chorus. Admission is free and survivors of gunshot injury and family members of victims are especially welcome to attend. For more information look in the bulletins or visit
