Election Night Meditation

Election Day is less than two weeks away, and the tension in the country is palpable. I’ve taken to limiting my news exposure almost exclusively to reading the morning paper. This I figure will save me a lot of money since I won’t damage my TV by throwing things at it.

We’re all going to need a little spiritual calm on election night, so the courtyard of the church will be open from 6 pm to 8 pm. We’ll have chairs socially spaced for you to sit, meditate, and pray. There will be candles to light as an expression of prayer. Every half hour, beginning at 6 pm, we will offer a meditative reading of scripture called lectio divina. These scriptures will center you, nourish your trust in God, and give you hope. Please drop in to connect with God.
