The June newsletter is here

The program year is wrapping up, but there’s still plenty going on at Westminster. Read all about it in the June newsletter.

And this Sunday (June 3) is no exception. Here’s what’s happening:

  • It’s Music Appreciation Sunday! Join us in celebrating & thanking the Praise Band, Chancel Choir, and Handbell Choir. At the 11 a.m. service, the Sacramento Women’s Chorus will join in the anthem, giving us over 50 singers!
  • Gender politics class concludes. During the 10 a.m. adult education class, we will hear from the Sacramento LGBT Community Center and the Gender Health Center. Learn about these two Sacramento-based organizations, what is happening locally, and how we as a faith community can be supportive of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Hot Dog BBQ & youth fundraiser. The annual cookout takes place in the courtyard after the 11 a.m. service. There is no cost to attend, but a goodwill donation basket will be available. This is the youth’s last fundraiser before their mission trip to Chiloquin, Oregon this July.
  • Sacramento Public Library discussion on homelessness. Join together with the community to share concerns with local experts whose work serves the local homeless community. This is the perfect way to take what we learned during our series on homelessness and put it into action. This takes place at 1 p.m. over at the Central Library (828 I St.). More information here.

NOTE THAT THE KAISER PERMANENTE WOMEN’S FITNESS FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE THIS SUNDAY AT THE CAPITOL. Plan to access Westminster from the south to avoid traffic & road closures.
