January adult education addresses race & criminal justice
“Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God,” by Kelly Brown Douglas will be the subject of our new six-week adult education class beginning Sunday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. in the Club Room. Robin Thompson will continue the discussion of race and criminal justice, this time with a look at “stand your ground” laws and social and faith constructions in America that devalue people of color.
The book is available through Amazon (ISBN 978-1-62698-109-6), or Robin will have a limited number of copies available as well. Reading the book is not a prerequisite! We hope you will join us for the class and the Martin Luther King Jr. March on Monday, Jan. 21. More information will follow soon, or you can contact the office.
