International mission efforts highlighted in October
Join us to hear Rev. Pek Muan Cuang of Myanmar discuss human and economic rights in his southeast Asian nation on Oct, 1 as part of Sunday worship services, or Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 5:30 p.m., when he will be joined by a mission co-worker from Central Asia.
The plights of all people in this region are challenging, especially as Myanmar is slowly rebuilding from devastating floods in 2015, which displaced 1.7 million people and 70% of the population is unemployed. In addition, basic needs for children, including education and housing, are extremely limited and women’s rights are a key concern of Chuang’s church.
Chuang, who is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church of Myanmar, is participating in the International Peacekeeping Program, which is coordinated by the greater Presbyterian Church.
From Sept. 22- Oct. 16 there will be 16 peacemakers throughout the USA, visiting area churches. Westminster is thrilled to host Rev. Chuang for these two dates. Please join us and bring a friend to learn more about this important situation.
