Chris became a part of the Westminster staff in August of 2017. “I feel I’m being led to this church,” said Chris, who has been playing in bands for a “lifetime.” As a pianist, cellist, and vocalist, her many skills will enhance the already thriving group at the 9 a.m. service. For a long time she had been praying about a way to incorporate her love of music with her faith, and when she heard about the Praise Band position she immediately applied.
“I prayed, I auditioned, I interviewed,” she says. One exciting aspect of the position, she said, is the ability to express and create as part of the Praise Band. Chris also shares her musical skills with people in memory care facilities, where she leads them in the oldies but goodies, encouraging them to join in singing.
During the week Chris is busy working in a construction office, but she always finds time for her family, especially her son Mitchell and his boy.
