Westminster Presbyterian Church seeks a Praise Band Director to direct all music activity at its 9 a.m. contemporary worship service each Sunday. Skills include singing and playing an instrument. Candidate must have a vibrant faith along with experience singing, playing an instrument (preferably piano) and directing singers and musicians in worship. The Chancel Choir sings a variety of traditional and modern anthems, and leads the congregation in singing hymns and spiritual songs, illuminating the focus of each 11 a.m. worship service. The choir also participates in special services throughout the year.
The Chancel Choir is mainly looking for tenors (female or male) and basses, but anyone interested in joining is welcome! No previous choir experience or music-reading ability required, but must be able to sing in tune. Chancel Choir rehearses every Thursday, 7 – 9 p.m.
Sunday Services: 10:30 a.m. warm-up, 11 a.m. service
No audition required; must be able to sing in tune. If you’re not sure of your abilities, Lee Hoffman (email@example.com) is happy to meet with you to gently help you find out. Also not required: previous choral singing experience or ability to read music. Just be open to learning, growing, and sharing.
Lee comes from a family deeply rooted in music and faith. She is a gifted choral conductor, voice teacher, soprano soloist, pianist, songwriter, musical theatre/opera director, collaborative innovator, and people person. Since 1988, she has taught at several universities, most recently at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Lee is overjoyed to join the Westminster Presbyterian Church family, to connect and work with people of diverse musical backgrounds, abilities, and interests to enhance spiritual experience within and between people of the church and community.
