called “Mad about Music & More” between services every Sunday
through Dec. 23. During this time, Praise Band Leader Chris
Borton will be teaching the children to sing melody, harmony, and
rhythm. For those who might be too shy to sing, there will be
opportunities to learn movements and instrumentals to go alone
with the music.
Children’s Worship Classes grades 1 – 5 during 9 and 11 a.m.
services
These classes are led by volunteer teachers and are for 1st – 5th
graders, focusing on scripture stories, music, movement, and
artistic expression. They are held in the Cameron Room, on the
main floor. At the 9 a.m. service teachers will escort children
after opening hymns and prayers. At the regular 11
a.m. service and the summer 10 am service, children are
invited to the front of the church to hear a Children’s Message
after opening hymns and prayers.
A fun-filled week was had by children and volunteers alike at
this year’s VBS. The stage in the Social Hall was decorated to
resemble a picturesque three-tiered waterfall surrounded by
trees, stuffed animals, rocks, rafts and even a kayak. A
paper tree spanning an entire corner in the social hall was
erected by Erika Nordman so that Zacchaeus had the perfect
platform during story-time.
A fun-filled week was enjoyed by the almost 50 people attending
Westminster’s Vacation Bible School this year. From June 26-30,
2017, everyone was singing about archaeology as well as enjoying
being Treasure Seekers of God’s love.
