Connecting on Wednesdays
An inter-generational small group ministry

Mark your calendars: “Connecting On Wednesdays” begins September 7th!

According to Dr. Ed White, Alban Institute,” using a well-rounded program to develop a healthy congregation requires holistic small groups, passionate spirituality, and loving relationships.” This is the foundation upon which the Connecting On Wednesdays program was developed and continues to be guided.

We are starting our 6th year since beginning in February 2006, offering an opportunity for members, non-members, and friends to fellowship together during a light dinner and study of your choice afterwards.

Connecting On Wednesdays is an inter-generational small group ministry which runs for a 3-month period in the Spring and the Fall, meeting every other Wednesday evening for dinner and small group study. This gathering continues to be a vibrant source for nurturing our spirit within Westminster. Come experience fellowship in a new way!

Each week starts with fellowship around the dinner table at 5:45pm in the Fellowship Hall, followed by your choice of small group studies from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the various classrooms. Dinner fee of $30.00 covers 6 meals payable at the time of registration. Also, child-care can be made available and must be requested at time of registration. Some partial scholarships can be made available; see Rev. Oxtoby or Wilma White.

Join us! Don’t miss out on a time for fellowship, lively discussions, building friendships, examining ways we live out our faith, and best of all having fun doing it!

“Nourishing the Inner Life”

Facilitator: Rev. Bob Fernandez – Spiritual Director

Participants will have the opportunity to explore and practice six of the many Christian spiritual practices that throughout history have served to enrich the core of our inner lives assisting us in a fuller faith journey.

“Writing Through Transitions: Connecting the Past, the Present, the Future”

Facilitator: Judy Davis M.Div.

Judy’s ministry is writing and she makes what seems like a struggle to put words on paper to express your thoughts both easy and fun. Participants will have an opportunity to learn new ways of self-expression and a time to form new relationships through our faith stories.

“Asking the Right Questions”

Facilitators: Bill Haldeman, Jim Dempsey, Mark Swanson

This is a series of DVDs and web-based small group studies helping people explore beyond the conventional theologies of traditional Christianity. The curriculum is part of a larger movement of Progressive Christianity. Although this class began last Fall one can come in at any point to join in the discussion without feeling left out.

Come join us in the patio after the late service or upstairs in the hallway after the early service on January 9th & 16th to register for the class of your choice.

About Connecting on Wednesdays

Connecting on Wednesdays an innovative program based on Healthy Church Growth, specifically designed around the basic idea of small groups. We gather informally for dinner in the Social Hall beginning with a prayer, sharing a common meal, and lively conversation. Classes begin after dinner and since the inception of this program, members and friends have enjoyed a variety of class offerings, having fun getting to know each other, and growing in our common faith through study and group interaction.
