Volunteer at Westminster - Share your talent
Whatever your talent might be, from singing in the choir to serving on a committee, Westminster wants you to share your gifts with the world. If you have a specific area of interest ansd wish to volunteer, please contact us. Some of the opportunities:
- Access Inclusive Mission - This subcommittee to the Mission Department discusses discrimination in all its ways, promotes inclusivity, and assists Westminster in ensuring its language and facilities are always improving accessibility for everyone.
- Art & Environment - This subcommittee to the Administration Department concerns itself with the physical appearance of Westminster, from colors to artwork to furnishings.
- Buildings & Grounds - This subcommittee to the Administration Department concerns itself with managing the facilities of Westminster and any work/repairs to be done. A Tuesday Morning Maintenance Crew assists in completing minor repair/improvement projects.
- Office Volunteers - Help support the administration of Westminster by preparing correspondence, processing mailings, filing, copying, and the like. Other
Service Opportunities:
The Departments of Session and the Deacons are other groups that provide significant opportunities to serve Westminster, and provide important ministries to members of the community.
Worship Service Assistance:
- Acolytes light and put out the candles at the beginning and end of each worship service. Children, youth, and families are invited to serve.
- Lay Readers read scripture and prayers at both worship services.
- Ushers and Greeters assist all those attending worship services.
- Coffee hour team members are often fellowship groups, but individuals may also offer to help organize this fellowship activity each Sunday.
- Environment volunteers assist in creating liturgical garments, wall hangings, and communion table linens and other 'decorative arts' that enhance the worship experience.
