Worship Times

8:45am Contemporary Service
The Contemporary Service features a praise band, modern music and a less formal worship environment and format. The service is held in the Social Hall, which is located on the second floor in the rear of the church. It is easiest to reach the Social Hall by entering in the back door located off the parking lot.

11:00am Traditional Service
The Traditional Service is held in the main Sanctuary which can be reached from the front door or from the back parking lot. It features a classical choir, grand organ, and a more formal environment and format.

Professional childcare for infants and preschoolers is available at both services; as well as during the fellowship and Christian Education hour between them.

Christian Education and Fellowship

Westminster offers a wide variety of opportunities for all ages to learn about the Christian faith and how to enact Jesus’ teachings in the modern world.

We offer spiritual education for children and youth on Sundays at 9:45am, and also during our Traditional Service. Additionally, Westminster’s children’s and youth ministries include Vacation Bible School, spiritual arts classes, INTER><ACT, fellowship events, and mission trips. Read More

We also offer adult education classes between Sunday services (starting at 9:45am), and Bible Study groups throughout the week. Read More

We encourage all visitors to join us for our fellowship time following either service. We meet in the Social Hall following the Contemporary Service, and in the Patio Room (or Patio, weather permitting) following the Traditional Service. We believe that the friendships we form with our fellow church-goers are an important part of our life of faith. To that end, we also have a variety of small groups which you do not need to be a member to join, including our Connecting on Wednesdays program. Read More about Small Groups

Other Programs
In addition to progressive Christian Education and fellowship opportunities for all ages, Westminster offers many opportunities to make a difference in the community. We invite all interested persons to assist in our ministries to local homeless, elderly, and refugee populations. We sponsor a local public Elementary School, providing tutors and extracurricular non-religious arts programming. We are very active in Sacramento’s interfaith community; and in response to our freedom and justice commitment, engage in faith-based outreach to the Capitol across the street. Join us in effecting progressive change in our community.
